QUALITY

KNOW-HOW AND FOOD SAFETY

For us, quality is conceived as a set of operations and characteristics of the product that make it preferable to other similar ones:

    • Experience in production
    • Know-how of our master miller
    • Complete control of the production process
    • Organoleptic characteristics
    • Product presentation

To support all of this, we have certified the entire process under one of the most demanding and internationally recognized food safety standards: IFS. Due to the sensitivity of some consumers regarding certain aspects, we have also addressed kosher (Jewish market) and Vegan (vegan market) certifications.

Furthermore, concerns about new health-related discoveries have led us to be one of the first companies in Spain to use BPA-free metal packaging.

In this line of excellence, our company has decided to participate for several years in the “SIQEV/QVEXTRA” Project, which promotes and fosters PREMIUM quality extra virgin olive oils with much more demanding organoleptic and analytical characteristics.

All of this is reflected in our Quality Policy and in the numerous national and international recognitions received by our products.

EXPAND THE INFORMATION

Each of the previously mentioned aspects influences the product’s quality in the following way:

    • EXPERIENCE IN PRODUCTION: obtaining healthy fruits harvested at the optimal moment of ripeness;

    • OUR MASTER MILLER’S KNOW-HOW: the milling must be carried out following the guidelines and secrets passed down by our ancestors. The ritual upon the arrival of the olives ranges from visual inspection to the sense of smell and touch of the freshly arrived olives. This ensures the freshness and quality of the harvested fruits.

    • CONTROL OF THE COMPLETE PRODUCTION PROCESS: control of all quality parameters throughout the process: source farms, condition of the received olives, water quality, grinding temperatures, grinding time, … In this way, it allows for complete TRACEABILITY of the oil, a vital aspect for consumer food safety. The entire production process is under the control of the Andalusian Committee for Ecological Agriculture (CA.A.E.), a member of IFOAM.

    • ORGANOLAPTIC CHARACTERISTICS: thanks to the exhaustive separation by quality from the reception of the olives, our warehouse holds oils from various varieties: Pajarera, Picuda, Hojiblanca, Picual, Arbequina, and others. Each one adds a beneficial characteristic to the oil, such as the Pajarera bringing aroma and sweetness, the Picuda adding some spiciness, the Picual its stability, the Hojiblanca its sweetness, and the Arbequina its fruitiness. This way, when making a blend that suits the specific tastes of a particular market, we have more possibilities of offering our customers the right product.

    • PRODUCT PRESENTATION: as a complement to our careful extraction and selection process, the presentation of our oil has also been meticulously chosen to reach the most selective and demanding markets. With the new re-styling done in 2019, we have managed to maintain our traditional look with a touch of modernity that characterizes us and has led us to win several design awards.

The SIQEV Seal guarantees the final consumer the highest level of quality for extra virgin olive oil in the bottles displaying this numbered quality seal. The content of the AOVE bottles bearing the SIQEV seal will be consistent with the quality declared on the labeling.

QvExtra! International is a non-profit private association, created by extra virgin olive oil producers, aiming to respond to the growing consumer demand for quality products. Its fundamental principle supports the IOC regulations in their entirety and advocates for a unique international quality standard in a free market without barriers.

As an added value, QvExtra! seeks collaboration with other International Associations in the defense and promotion of authentic Extra Virgin Olive Oils to standardize the use of the SIQEV seal, which should be recognized and valued internationally as an undisputable quality reference for producers and consumers across all countries, based on shared Codes and Quality Controls.

One of QvExtra!’s main objectives is to inform consumers about all aspects of olive growing culture and tradition, as well as the extraordinary physical, sensory, nutritional, and therapeutic characteristics of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It seeks to bring consumers closer to the reality of olive oil: where and how it is produced in each region and the characteristics and recommended uses for each variety.

LUQUE ECOLOGICO, S.L. has been a member of QvExtra! since its inception and actively participates in its promotion as part of its commitment to quality.
